Telangana: Talented IT staff need not worry

There is no doubt that some individuals may lose their jobs, but the talented ones will need have no apprehensions.

Hyderabad: Talented IT professionals will not be losing jobs despite the present buzz about techies losing their employment because they fall short in acquiring skills, Jayesh Ranjan, IT Secretary, Telangana government, stated on Monday,

“There is no doubt that some individuals may lose their jobs, but the talented ones will need have no apprehensions. Admittedly artificial intelligence (AI) and machines are going to steal some of the opportunities but those will be only a few in number. Automation and AI may definitely result in the loss of some of the jobs, but the talented professionals are bound to remain in demand,” he said.

The official was speaking after unveiling Qualcomm India’s flagship CSR project “Qualcomm Aqriti - promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education among underprivileged girls

“Nearly four lakh people work in IT sector in the city.  We need to produce ready-to-work force for future job requirements.  That is why we need to develop and promote initiatives like Aqriti,” he stressed.
