Vijayawada: Rapid changes are taking place on the city outskirts with the implementation of new road projects. The state government has taken up road projects and internal connecting roads as part of traffic diversion plans. The city outskirts will change due to the ongoing developments due to which more housing and infra projects may come up on the city outskirts.

The state government sped up the road works around Vijayawada city. An 80 feet road from Rajivnagar to Pathapadu Road is now almost complete within a span of a few months. The road will be useful for traffic diversion on the occasion of Krishna Pushkaraalu. On the other hand, the road can be utilised as an alternative road for Nuzvid to ease the traffic. The road projects are useful for city expansion and construction and realty activity will get a boom from the developments.

Likewise, the local body took steps to expand the Krishnalanka Road. Traffic rush is very high on this road stretch as it is the entrance point to Guntur-bound buses. Besides, already the state government has taken up the flyover works for Kanakadurga temple. Meanwhile, the Errakatta Road has also been expanded recently. Now the expansion of the road is useful for Hyderabad-bound vehicles.

Similarly, the CRDA proposed an inner road near Penamaluru on the city outskirts towards Machilipatnam. Traffic can be diverted from the road and construction would get boost from new roads, says Anne Srikrishna Rao, a native of Kolavennu.
