Chandrababu Naidu meets Prez, ups ante for Special Category Status

He said that the delegation complained to President over the neglect in the fulfilment of State's bifurcation assurances.

Vijayawada: TD supremo and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu warned of dire consequences if Centre did not grant Special Category Status and implement provisions of AP Reorganisation Act.

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not have leadership qualities and lacked the intention to serve the country. Mr Naidu met the President of India, Ramnath Kovind and submitted a memorandum. Mr Naidu went to Rashtrapathi Bhawan in a padayatra. He said while he was fighting for justified demands, BJP leaders were spreading lies.

The CM who staged Dharma Porata Deeksha at AP Bhavan on Monday seeking Special Category Status to AP, took out a padayatra from AP Bhavan to Jantar Mantar on Tuesday along with thousands of supporters. Later the Chief Minister proceeded to Rashtrapati bhavan and submitted a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind.
