Vijayawada: State government employees have sought the intervention of the South Central Railway authorities to address certain issues about trains, including the up and down 12795 and 12796.

The trains are meant for travel between AP and Telangana.

The government employees said train 12796 used to be allocated to platform 1 in Secunderabad earlier. At present, it was coming on platform 1 or 2, by way of changes at the last minute.

Several government employees avail this service and they find it difficult to hurriedly move from one platform to another. They requested the railway to allocate train 12796 to platform 1 regularly on Mondays and train 12796 on Fridays.

The halt to train 12795 at the outer city limits for a long time on Fridays, before reaching Secunderabad and Lingampally stations, is also a matter of concern to government employees. They say that, as a result, the train is reaching the Secunderabad station at about 11.30 pm.

They pointed out that the employees lived in several parts of Hyderabad and they were reaching home very late. They want the train to reach Secunderabad before 10 pm.

They requested for addition of a sleeper class coach and a third AC coach to both the trains “as several employees are having health issues like back pain, neck pain and knee pain.”
