THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's  financial advisor Gita Gopinath  has expressed happiness over the government and the opposition jointly inviting opinions of NRKs for the state's development.  Gita,  who spoke  at the Loka Kerala Sabha, recalled the controversies over her appointment, and said, "I wanted to contribute my skills for  Kerala's development and hence was happy when I was given an assignment in the state. But there were certain controversies over it then. But now I am happy that the opposition is also  collecting the opinions of NRKs for the state's development," she said.

The major challenges to be addressed were  creating  fresh jobs as automation was taking over many jobs and overcoming the impact of the adverse developments in West Asia  due to falling oil prices.  She also stressed the   need for the participation of more Malayalis in Loka Kerala Sabha.
