Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation is keen to attract tourists to the new capital of Amaravati and is chalking out programmes. One idea is to develop Bhavani Island in River Krishna as a special attraction. The river itself is going to glow with laser lights. A musical fountain and a laser show are being arranged near Fun Day Tower on Bhavani Island by the APTDC at a cost of Rs 16 crore. The three water screens on the laser show are the first kind in India.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the laser show, trials for which have been going on for  past five days under the supervision of APSTDC’s executive dir-ector G. Umamaheswara Rao.  “Laser vision technologies were used to coordinate all of the media elements within the show. The technology allows normally incompatible elements of multimedia such as fountains, surround-sound and architectural lighting to be integrated and to be programmed and replayed simultaneously,” a technician of Premier Word told DC. “At night, thousands of spectators can congregate around the musical fountain to witness the 30-minute audio-visual water show. The three water screens show will be a visual treat of the audience. The visuals playing on the water screen will thrill everybody,” said Mr Rao.
