Clashes Erupt Between Students in Amalapuram

Kakinada: A quarrel between two students led to a clash between two groups of students belonging to a popular degree college in Amalapuram of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district on Tuesday.

According to information, BA students of the college had two days ago attended a function, where a dispute between two groups.

On Tuesday, while one of the students had been going to the college, another student touched his shoulder. This led to an argument between the two. Soon, students of the rival groups rushed there and beat up one another.

On receiving information, Amalapuram police arrived and dispersed them.

On Wednesday, Amalapuram Town circle inspector T. Kranthi Kumar said they sent the WhatsApp videos of clashing students to the principal and other faculty members of the college to identify the students.

Kranthi Kumar said not all students had clashed, as some of the students tried to separate those quarrelling. He said as per instructions of higher officials, a decision will be taken whether or not cases are to be registered.

The inspector said parents of the students will be called to the college for counselling.
