Training camp for 600 NCC girl cadets

The cadets are being given military training in weapons, map reading, field craft/battle craft and leadership

Hyderabad: A combined annual training camp is being organised for 600 girl cadets at University College for Women, Koti under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Secunderabad from August 9 to 16.

The camp is being held by 1 Telangana Girls Battalion NCC. The cadets are being given military training in weapons, map reading, field craft/battle craft and leadership. Alumni Dr Soumithri gave a lecture on women’s health issues to the cadets.

The cadets are also being given exposure to firing weapons. The camp is being run under the leadership of Officer Commanding Lt. Col. Pradeep Kumar along with his team of administrative officer, 5 associate NCC officers, 2 girl cadet instructors and 12 military staff.

The 75th Independence Day will also be celebrated with pomp and a rally is being organised as part of  the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on August 14 and Flag hoisting on August 15.
