Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday made it clear that admissions to the super specialty DM/MCh courses, for which counselling is scheduled to commence from August 12, will be subjected to its further orders. Counselling is conducted through NTR Health University at Vijayawada and Kaloji Narayana Rao University in Warangal.

A division bench of Justices V. Ramasubrama-nian and T. Rajani was hearing a petition by Dr B. Satish Kumar and 12 aspirants, challenging a direction by the Centre to the universities to conduct common counselling for the seats at the national level.

Mr Sarasani Satyam Reddy, senior counsel, said the Centre had no right to order the state governments to conduct common counselling.

He sad that the Presiden-tial order, Article 371(D) and the 1979 circular specified that 85 per cent of the non-state seats should be reserved in favour of the local areas and the remaining 15 per cent of seats should to be treated as unreserved for the non-state candidates. The bench posted the case to Wednesday, and directed the Centre to respond.
