Telangana village boycotts Scheduled Caste families
The sarpanch was irked by Sailoo not standing up when he reached the gram panchayat office.
Kamareddy: The social boycott of Scheduled Caste families in Jaldipally village of Lingampet mandal, Kamareddy district has turned controversial.
The dispute between village sarpanch Kallu Ravinder and former ward member Pothuganti Pedda Sailoo led to the boycott.
The sarpanch was irked by Sailoo not standing up when he reached the gram panchayat office. In support of Sailoo, SC families argued with the sarpanch on Sunday. Allegedly, the sarpanch directed the gram panchayat staff to stop supplying water to the SC colony and to not clean drainages.
The issue came to light on Tuesday when a police team led by Kamareddy district additional SP Anyona, DSP Satthenna, CI Sudhakar, SI Sukhender Reddy visited Jaldipally. A case has been filed against the sarpanch.
