Railways on high alert in Sakleshpur

Hassan: Officials concerned of South Western Railways are keeping a close watch on inclement weather conditions and are taking all safety precautions prescribed for the monsoon with the track patrolling staff pressed into service and other safety workers put on high alert. 

A press release from S.G. Yatish, Public Relations Officer and Divisional Commercial Manager, says, the rainfall during the previous monsoon was 245 mm and the rainfall for the current season till today is already 810 mm which is 230.612 per cent more when compared with the previous season. He asked the public to study the weather forecast and plan their trips accordingly.  

The press release adds that speed restriction has been imposed in the Sakleshpur section since the safety of passengers is of utmost importance to the Railways.
