Telangana: One dead as minibus falls into gorge

The mishap occurred when the minibus they were travelling in fell into a gorge at a steep curve on the road.

Hyderabad: One person died and as many as 14 sustained injuries in an accident in Nagarkurnool district on Sunday. The mishap occurred when the minibus they were travelling in fell into a gorge at a steep curve on the road.

The deceased has been identified as Sangeetha Heran (36). According to police, the minibus (MH 19Q 7807) with around 18 passengers on board started from Nashik district in Maharashtra and was proceeding to Srisailam to visit the temple.

When the vehicle reached Eegalapenta village on the highway, the driver lost control at a curve and the minibus fell in the gorge.The driver escaped with minor injuries as he jumped after losing control.

Sangeetha died on the spot. Those who sustained injuries were shifted to a nearby Government hospital for treatment. A case of accidental death was registered.
