Bengaluru: A day before polling in the Assembly elections, the Income Tax officials reportedly raided Congress candidate for Bidar South constituency, Ashok Kheny's house in Bidar.

Kheny joined the Congress recently amidst protest by some Congress leaders. The IT sleuths noted that there were complaints against Kheny about doling out cash to voters. The raid was conducted by an eight member team headed by District Deputy Commissioner Anirudha Sharavan and ZP CEO Selvamani, said sources.

Kheny who is the NICE chief, had contested the 2013 Assembly polls as an Independent and had joined the Congress recently in the run-up to the polls. The JD(S) led by former PM Deve Gowda, has been criticising this move wondering how the Congress could induct a ‘tainted politician’ like Kheny.
