Telangana: Only chairman left to hold TSERC rudder

The commission comprised a chairman and two directors and the State Government has failed to take timely action in finding replacements.

(TSERC) has turned into a one-man army with the term of the finance director getting over recently and the post of the technical director having remained vacant for over a year.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC) has turned into a one-man army with the term of the finance director getting over recently and the post of the technical director having remained vacant for over a year. The commission comprised a chairman and two directors and the State Government has failed to take timely action in finding replacements.

In TS Genco the posts of two directors (projects and coal) are vacant. In the Southern Discom posts of three directors (finance, HR and commercial) and in the Northern Discom that of two directors (HR and finance) were vacant.

Two months ago the government granted extensions to directors in TS Transco and those in Southern Discoms whose terms were over. But in the case of directors who completed their terms recently, this extension was not made.
