Visakhapatnam: Special officer takes charge of South Coast Railway zone

In his career spanning over two-and-a-half decades, Mr Srinivas has held several key positions across five railway zones.

The Railways is operationalizing the Rail Display Network (RDN) at six stations, including Varanasi, Gorakhpur and others, as a pilot project.

Visakhapatnam: S.S. Srinivas on Monday assumed charge as officer on special duty for the recently announced South Coast Railway zone. He is an Indian Railway Service officer of the 1990 batch.

The ministry of railways assigned the OSD the responsibility of undertaking planning and preparatory work for the formation of the new zone head quartered at Vizag.

Mr Srinivas’ immediate priorities include survey of existing infrastructural facilities, requirement of land acquisition, and preparation of Detailed Project Report for additional requirements and the blueprint for smooth transition of staff into new zone.

In his career spanning over two-and-a-half decades, Mr Srinivas has held several key positions across five railway zones, a production unit, and at the National Academy of Indian Railways. His professional interests include employee welfare, negotiations, transformation and change management.

His prior experience include handling change management and formation of two new railway zones of South Western Railway and ECoR, as well as setting up of RRB, Bhubaneswar.
