Small-time actor, two others die in mishaps in Chennai

A resident of Srinivasa Street, he was on his way home when the mishap occurred around 10.30 pm.

Chennai: Three persons, including a junior film artiste, died in separate road accidents in the city on Thursday. In a freak accident at T Nagar, Selvakumar, a small time actor, riding a two-wheeler, died after the vehicle skidded. A resident of Srinivasa Street, he was on his way home when the mishap occurred  around 10.30 pm.

On Burkit Road, a cable from his bike severed and got entangled in the front wheel. Selvakumar who lost control fell down and was rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Rajarajan and his wife Saradha (48) were knocked down by a van in a hit-and-run accident while they were crossing Karapakkam on OMR around 7.30 pm, Rajarajan sustained minor injuries, Saradha suffered grievous injuries. She was admitted to GRH and was later shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital where she died.

Pandurengan, (40), a pedestrian, died after he was knocked down by an MTC bus near Guindy Race Course around 11.15 pm. The victim, a carpenter of Narayanapuram at Pallikaranai, was heading home when a  bus on route no. 54M fatally knocked him down. Guindy traffic investigation police arrested the bus driver.
