Traffic diversions in Bengaluru in view of Aero India-2023 inauguration on Monday

Ballari road from Esteem Mall will be closed for all types of vehicles from 8 am to 11.30 am

BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Aero India-2023 at Yelahanka Air Force Station, Bengaluru on Monday and the air show will be held at the AFS till February 17.

The Bengaluru police stated that the elevated road on Ballari road from Esteem Mall will be closed for all types of vehicles from 8 am to 11.30 am and travellers towards Yelahanka side have been asked to take service road below the elevated road. For travelers towards Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) shall take alternate roads from Hennur junction to reach the airport.

Keeping in mind the air show will be attended by a large number of VVIPs, VIPs and foreign dignitaries and lakhs of public to witness the show, Bengaluru police have temporarily prohibited movement of heavy and medium vehicles on Bengaluru-Ballari road from Mekri Circle to MVIT Gate and from MVIT Gate to Mekri Circle both sides of each road.

However, buses belonging to Bangalore Metropolitan Corporation Limited (BRTC) and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) are allowed to ply on these roads. Similar, prohibition of heavy and medium vehicles is applicable on Goraguntepalya-Hennuru road, Nagavara junction to Thanisandra to Reva College junction and also from Bengaluru-Tumakuru road via Goraguntepalya, Hesarughatta and Chikkanabavara towards Bengaluru city.

The release said all types of heavy and medium goods vehicles and tractor movement is prohibited on certain roads prominently from Hyderabad-Chikkaballapura side to Bengaluru city and travellers have been asked to take alternative routes to reach their destinations.

According to a press release by the Bengaluru police on Sunday stated that heavy and medium vehicles coming from Hyderabad-Chikkaballapura side shall take a diversion from Doddaballapura cross near Devanahalli and move towards Tumkur-Pune road to go towards Bengaluru city.

Vehicles coming from Thotagere Basanna Teple shall move towards Hosakote via Doddaballapura-Devanahalli and vehicles coming from Nelamangala can move via Sondekoppa and reach NICE road.

For vehicles coming from Chikkabanavara towards city shall take U-turn move towards Thotagere Basanna Temple to reach Hosakote via Doddaballapura-Devanahalli and vehicles from Nelamangala can also reach NICE road via Sondekoppa.
