KOTHAGUDEM: Thirty-nine among the 6,163 persons on whom Rapid Antigen Tests were conducted in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district tested Covid-19 positive on Tuesday.

Coronavirus cases reported on Monday were 33, when 5,725 tests had been carried out. Cumulative cases in the district have thus gone up to 47,006, while the number of tests carried out has increased to 11,44,722.

Officials observe that these trends indicate as though the third wave has already started in some parts of Telangana.

Efforts are on to increase the number of beds in various hospitals of the district, including in the ICUs, district hospitals’ coordinator Mukkaneteswara Rao said.

Among those who tested positive for Coronavirus are seven employees of the Madhira tehsildar office and three of a bank branch in Kusumanchi in Khammam district.

With Covid-19 cases increasing, the district administration has decided to enhance the number of tests being conducted on a daily basis.
