Karnataka govt firm on steel flyover?

According to sources close to Mr. Parameshwar, the government is also open to holding a public debate on the steel bridge project.

Bengaluru: The state government is firm on taking up the controversial steel bridge project between Chalukkya circle to Hebbal fly over.  

Sources close to Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwar said that, notwithstanding the ongoing public opposition for the project, government has made up its mind to implement the project. According to sources close to Mr. Parameshwar, the government is also open to holding a public debate on the steel bridge project. "Government is confident it will get environmental clearance for the project as there is no need to cut many trees in the project site", sources added. 

Government sources also said that the proposed revised alignment of metro rail connectivity to the Bengaluru Airport which passes through Hebbal flyover would not pose a hurdle to the steel bridge project.
