Hyderabad: Drunk man argues with wife, stabs her and son

Ganesh was arrested and a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.

Hyderabad: A man attacked his wife and son with a dagger at their home on Jhira road in the Tappachabutra area of old city on Sunday night.

“The man, identified as D. Ganesh, aged about 45 years, a fruit vendor from Tappachabutra, picked an argument with his wife, Sandhya, 40, while he was under the influence of alcohol and the heated argument escalated to a level where he pulled out a dagger and attacked his wife and also his son, Yuvraj, 18, an intermediate student, who tried to intervene,” said sub-inspector of Tappachabutra Police, N Kondalu.

Sources said that Ganesh would often come home drunk and pick fights and have arguments with his wife over trivial issues and created a nuisance in the locality.

Upon being informed of the incident the police arrived and rushed the injured and bleeding Sandhya and her son to Osmania General Hospital.

Ganesh was arrested and a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.
