YSRC will not contest Telangana elections

In 2014, the YSRC had fielded 79 candidates for the Assembly from the Telangana region, and 13 for the Lok Sabha.

Hyderabad: The YSRC will not contest the Telangana state elections, the party announced on Saturday. The decision was taken by party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Our aim is to focus on the general elections in Andhra Pradesh. The party is looking at contesting the 2024 general elections in Telangana state,” said a senior party member. 

In 2014, the YSRC had fielded 79 candidates for the Assembly from the Telangana region, and 13 for the Lok Sabha. It won the Khammam Lok Sabha seat and three Assembly constituencies. All of them later joined the TRS.
