Hyderabad High Court order on cheat reserved

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has reserved its orders on a petition seeking to direct the DGPs of both states of AP and Telangana to secure the presence of a convict who had fled from Dubai to India after conviction.

According to officials, Venkata Rambabu Nusumu, a native of East Godavari district, failed to repay money he owed to oil companies in Dubai and Sharjah.   
M/s Gulf Petrochem FZC, a company based in Sharjah had moved the High Court seeking direction to secure the presence of Nusumu.

According to the petitioning company, Sharjah Federal Instance Court, had sentenced him to undergo imprisonment for a period of two years for cheating the company by failing to repay 17,98,300 dirhams.

The petitioner brought to the notice of the court that Rambabu had committed similar frauds against several other companies to the tune of $ 4,000,000.

Sivaraju Srinivas, counsel for the petitioner, told Justice Raja Elango while hearing of the plea that the man was also convicted by a court in Dubai . It’s being claimed that Nusumu is in Thiruvananthapuram where he was arrested in a fake passport case.
