Update: 2023-07-11 18:30 GMT

Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday ordered notice to the Centre and the state government in a writ petition complaining of irregularities in allotting 2BHK houses. The bench of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji overruled the office objections on the maintainability of the writ petition and directed the respondents to file their response.

A. Jagadeeshwar, president of the Slum Welfare Development Association, complained that 468 2BHK houses were announced under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, at Banda Maissammmanagar at Bansilalpet. The petitioner alleged that while 468 flats were sanctioned, 310 were constructed and 226 allotted. The petitioner complained that though nine floors were sanctioned, only five were constructed.
