Telangana can buy power at cheaper rate

In a retaliatory move TS GENCO has threatened AP GENCO with power supply stoppage if the dues to the tune of Rs 1676.46 crore are not paid up soon.

Hyderabad: Both TS and AP have stopped supplying power to each other from Saturday midnight. AP energy principal secretary Ajay Jain confirmed that AP has stopped power supply to TS after TS stopped power supply to AP.

At present power demand in TS has come down to 127 MW per day. If more power is required, TSTransco can purchase it from the open market at cheaper rate. The officials said that Transco is paying about Rs 4 per unit to AP. In the open access system power is available around Rs 3 per unit. At night times power is available at Rs 2 per unit, and even cheaper some times.
