Singleton in Panama Papers, but no office in Karimnagar

According to the Panama Papers, Singleton is a shareholder of Peatree Company Limited (PCL).

KARIMNAGAR: In the recent Panama Papers leaked by the International Consorti-um of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), a company named “Singleton” had been mentioned as having registered with the address: House number 5-105/1A, Sulthanpur village, in Eligaid mandal of Karimnagar. However, inquiries revealed that no such company has been set up here.

According to the Panama Papers, Singleton is a shareholder of Peatree Company Limited (PCL), an intermediary of Valla Limited. PCL’s jurisdiction is British Virgin Islands. It is also a shareholder of Nevis Investment Limi-ted situated in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

The database of Panama Papers released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists mentions company named “Singleton” had been mentioned but inquiries made revealed no such company exists.

According to the Panama Papers, Singleton is an intermediary of Valla Limited. Valla Limited is located in United Kingdom. DC visited the village in Karimnagar on Tuesday and found that the address did not exist.

“There is no residence with that house number,” confirmed a panchayat official who maintained the register containing the list of taxpayers. However, a goldsmith resides in a house numbered 5-105 and a woman and her daughter live in House No. 5-105/1. Neither family has the capability of setting up an international firm.
