Vijayawada: The crime investigation department has served a notice under Section 91 of CrPC to the Telugu Desam general-secretary seeking details of the editor of party’s e-paper ‘Chaitanya Ratham’ and of the writer of the articles ‘Aparichithudu’ and ‘Buggannagari Bhoodaham’.

The notice was served on TD at the party headquarters here on Tuesday.

Earlier, finance minister Buggana Rajendranath lodged a complaint against members of the Telugu Desam, alleging that they conspired to defame him by preparing a false and forged list of assets, and by exaggerating their value, and also the extent of land owned by him and published these in the TD’s e-paper on November 23, 2022.

He said in his complaint that the details of his assets submitted to the returning officer at the time of filing of nomination papers in the last assembly elections were obtained and falsified.

The CID asked for submission of the original copy of the Chaitanya Ratham e-paper dated 23-11-2022 and also details of the e-paper’s editor and the person who wrote such articles.
