Thiruvananthapuram: Female DJ ousted for wearing shorts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Several students and alumni of a private engineering college at Kazhakoottam cried foul on social media over the ouster of a renowned female Disk Jockey (DJ) from a college cultural festival for allegedly wearing shorts. The DJ named Siana Catherine has expressed her harrowing experience on a live video claiming a professor asked her to go away from the scene by banging on the car window.

The incident reportedly happened on Friday had the DJ stepping out of the car with students to enter college. The staffer, who was observing her, blocked her way and said no permission has been given to her programmes. Dozens of students and Trivandrumites took on to cyberspace apologising to DJ for the insult she had to face. The college officials could not be reached for a comment on account of cultural programmes that were continuing at the campus on Saturday. DJ Siana Catherine has performed alongside several top DJs in the world and had marked her presence in famous Electronic Dance Music (EDM) festivals like Sunburn. She had performed alongside artists like Martin Garixx and Hardwell.
