Beautification work thrills Kurnool citizens

KURNOOL: Kurnool municipal corporation is focusing on beautifying the city. Traffic islands are to be decorated with historic objects. Municipal commissioner Harinath Reddy said that the walls are being painted with historic themes and traffic islands will have illuminated historic objects. As a pilot project, we have transplanted boulders from rock gardens and replanted them at Viswesarayya circle, he said.

Kurnool municipal corporation (KMC) proposes to select a bidder for “Installation of Modern Traffic Signalling System under BOT basis (PPP mode)” in Kurnool. He said that the  objective is to replace existing traffic signals with modern traffic signals which have intelligent video surveillance technology. We have requested the agency to remove the existing traffic signals and install new systems with the latest technology.

He added that the investment programs are  intended to  achieve improvements in transportation in the long-run of over 20 years. This is also  intended to strengthen the traffic and transport planning  capacity of KMC and other key agencies managing traffic and transport in the region, he added. Ushering a new experience during the night in Kurnool, Mr Reddy said that solar power signal  lights/blinkers will have  all modern facilities like LED, manual function,  UPS, countdown timers,  pedestrian signals, earthing, underground cabling, Primary/Secondary/tertiary signals and provision for future addition of  ASN modem, ATC Hub,  synchronising  modem,  regulate violations,  surveillance  cameras  with  3  months backup and  censure to recognize  suspects and for red light  violation  facility with  maintenance including electricity charges.
