Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday asked officials to prepare proposals for funds to be allocated for minority welfare in the ensuing annual state budget.

Rao, who held a review with officials on the welfare of minorities, said the residential schools for minorities should be increased as per need, a release from his office stated.

"He (Rao) wanted the district collectors to monitor implementation of minority welfare programmes and suggested that regular health check-ups should be held in the schools.

"He also asked the officials to prepare proposals to encourage minorities in the field of information technology and industrial sector," it said.
