Call The  late K.H. Patil, father of senior Congress leader, H.K. Patil, was  an eternal dissident. Unfortunately for him, he could not become Chief Minister despite his many tricks, which earned him the nickname "Hulakoti’s tiger"  implying  he was a fiery and fearless rebel.  His son, K.H. Patil couldn’t be more different from him. Recently, after his election as Speaker, Mr Ramesh Kumar observed that he did not see any streaks of his father in him.

But not everyone knows that Patil junior is quietly trying to cobble together a group of disgruntled senior leaders from North Karnataka and already has the backing of 13. After all, you can’t change a leopard’s spots or someone’s genes.   A sportsman in his college, Mr Patil has hinted  he is upto the challenge he has been presented with lately, saying, "I played cricket and table tennis in the past, but  now I may need to play chess."
