Karimnagar: These Parliament elections are going to be prestigious for the Congress  because the long desire of people to see the AICC president Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister of India was going to be fulfilled soon after the elections, stated the Congress party’s Karimnagar LS candidate and former MP, Ponnam Prabhakar, on Tuesday.

Speaking to the press, Mr Prabhakar said that the Congress was determined to uplift the downtrodden and “do NYAY” to all sections of people across the country.

Mr Prabhakar assured that all the promises that were mentioned in the Congress party manifesto would be fulfilled. As soon as the Congress party came to power, it would sanction Rs 6,000 per month for the women in the family irrespective of caste and religion and would waive of Rs 2 lakh of farm loans taken by the farmers along with purchasing of the food grains Rs 2,500 per quintal.

Coming down heavily on the TRS LS candidate and present MP B. Vinod Kumar, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar alleged that he was trying to deceive people showing false figures of development which did not take place in Karimnagar. He demanded that Mr Vinod release a white paper on the development that took place during his tenure of five years as MP.

Without acquiring a inch of land for laying of railway line and without laying even one kilometre of national highway in Karimnagar, Mr. Vinod was claiming that the railway line works were going on at a brisk pace and he would make Karimnagar as the hub and centre for National highways, he criticised.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar promised that he would allot a medical college to Karimnagar district and land was also acquired when Smith Sabharwal was the Collector of the district but in the later stages that was allotted to other districts like the leather park. “As Mr. Vinod is a non-local, he has no interest in Karimnagar, and did not even object to the move of the government,” he added.

“Being a local, even though I was defeated by Mr. Vinod in the previous LS elections, I was with the people all these five years from 2014 to 2019 and fought on various people’s issues and for the development of Karimnagar and will continue the same in the coming days,” he assured.

Mr Ponnam Prabhakar appealed to the people to cast their vote for him and give him a chance by electing him with a big majority to serve them and for the development of Karimnagar.
