Adilabad: All candidates likely to begin silent campaign

Adilabad: Contesting candidates intensified their campaign and touched more areas, as it came to an end on Tuesday.

Neither Congress nor BJP senior leaders participated in the campaign in Adilabad district on Tuesday. The contesting candidates are likely to begin silent campaign in the coming 48 hours before the polling.

Congress, TRS and BJP candidates Ramesh Rathod, Godam Nagesh and Soyam Bapurao are making all out efforts to win the elections.

The leaders are hopeful to get their community votes and are counting how many votes they would get in addition to the votes of other communities in the elections.

BJP is focusing on youth votes in rural and urban areas alike. It was very much visible that more youth and middle aged persons participated in the road show of BJP party in Nirmal and Adilabad districts.

There was overwhelming response to Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh’s speech during the road show. TRS is considering BJP as their main opponent in Adilabad Lok Sabha elections and this is clear with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s statements, targeting the BJP and he criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the meeting held in Nirmal.

TRS has an advantage that it has MLAs in all the seven Assembly constituencies which fall under the Lok Sabha segment and Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy and former minister Jogu Ramanna. The second phase Cabinet expansion, in the coming days, has also activated the aspirants of the Ministry and they are coordinating the campaign in their respective Assembly constituencies.       

Congress  candidates’ defeat in the nine Assembly seats out of 10 has affected the morale of the cadre and second rung leaders. It was learnt that Congress party leaders are not happy with the kind of response they were getting.
