Kollam temple fire: Narendra Modi, Oommen Chandy announce compensation

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy also announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs.10 lakh to kin of the deceased.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced Rs 2 lakh as compensation for the kin of the dead in Kollam temple fire in which over 100 people have been killed and many injured.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy also announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs.10 lakh to kin of the deceased.

The Prime Minister has announced Rs 50,000 each for the injured in the tragedy that occurred early this morning in Puttingal Devi Temple near Kollam town. Chandy announced Rs 2 lakh each for those who are seriously injured.
