Woman Maoist Involved in 48 Cases of Violence Surrenders

The rebel was carrying Rs 1 lakh bounty on her head

 Bhubaneswar: A senior woman Maoist cadre named Ungi Madvi alias Rosni, on Wednesday surrendered before Malkangiri superintendent of police (SP).

Rosni, an active member of the CPI (Maoist), was carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on her head.

According to police, the woman rebel had joined the banned CPI (Maoist) party in 2016. She was currently working as a party member of Mahupadar of Kanger Ghati of Darbha division of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC).

For the last eight years, she was actively involved in a number of Maoist activities and violence, including blasting of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Odisha.

“It is a good achievement for the operation staff as the woman Maoist was actively involved in a series of incidents in Odisha for the last eight years. Apart from Odisha, she was also active in neighbouring states,” said Malkangiri SP, Nitesh Wadhwani.

The senior police official informed that Rosni was involved in at least 48 cases in Odisha including IED blast and ambush on security forces.
