Home guard on election duty dies

Hyderabad: A Home Guard from Gopalapuram police station died on Monday while undergoing treatment. 

The man collapsed during election duty following a seizure attack and received head injuries, following which he was rushed to Gandhi Hospital.

The deceased was identified as Brahmachary, 43, who was on election duty on Sunday evening at St. Joseph School. 

“He was stationed at Booth No. 41 of Secunderabad constituency when he had a seizure attack and fell on the road. He sustained head injuries and was immediately shifted to Gandhi hospital for treatment. He died while undergoing treatment on Monday afternoon,” police said. 

Based on a complaint, a case was booked under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC and the body was shifted for post-mortem.
