Election Code: Political billboards being removed in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: All political billboards, hoardings of government departments and advertisements on metro pillars are being removed with the election code coming into force on Monday.

GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose said that notices are being served to all advertising agencies asking them to withdraw all such hoardings within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, HMRL and HAML managing director N.V.S. Reddy said, “We are abiding by the instructions of the election commission. We are also warning all those who will have posters illegally on the properties belonging to Metro Rail, especially the pillars.”

South Central Railway officials clarified that “all advertisements which fall under the election commission’s protocol will be removed in Telangana as SCR covers various states”.
