Twitter bans handles, put on notice

Hyderabad: Twitter Communications India has been issued a legal notice for suspending some accounts.

It is alleged that Twitter India was suspending accounts without issuing an advisory.

Twitter India has to explain why certain handles were suspended, following a complaint filed by Supreme Court advocate Vibhor Anand and co-complainant Vipul Sax-ena, co-founder of India Against Biased Media.

The notice claims that Twitter had initiated lesser action against handles spreading fake news.

Mr Anand said Twitter India was bound by Indian laws.
