Sircilla: Challenged woman raped, delivers stillborn baby
Early on Sunday, Laxmi went to the bathroom and delivered a stillborn baby without anyone’s help.
Sircilla: A mentally challenged woman who was allegedly raped by a person at Chinna Bonalu in Sircilla municipality delivered a stillborn baby in the bathroom of her house.
Police said her parents are daily wage labourers. One Raju, a local, trapped the victim and raped her.
A few months after the incident, her parents noticed changes in the victim and took her to a local registered medical practitioner (RMP). He could not diagnose her pregnancy and gave her medicines.
Early on Sunday, Laxmi went to the bathroom and delivered a stillborn baby without anyone’s help. She was taken to the government hospital.in Sircilla. The hospital does not have a gynaecologist and circle inspector Srini-vas and child development and protection officer Alekya Patel along with Anganwadi teachers Vind-hya Rani and Venkat Laxmi took Laxmi to a private hospital.
Mr Srinivas said, “We have taken steps to provide treatment to the victim. We have information about Raju and will ensure justice is done to the victim.”
