Hyderabad: The CBI Court on Friday denied bail to Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, accused number seven in Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case.

Bhaskar Reddy, father of Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy, had sought bail on grounds that his health has deteriorated.

CBI arrested the MP’s father on April 16 on charges that he had played a role in executing the murder of Vivekananda Reddy. The agency contended that Bhaskar Reddy had also tried to destroy evidence at the crime scene.

Avinash Reddy’s father has remained in jail since April 16. The CBI Court had extended his custody till June 16, following which Bhaskar Reddy had applied for bail on grounds of his deteriorating health.

The CBI Court had on June 6 elaborately heard arguments on the bail application of Bhaskar Reddy and reserved its orders.

On Friday, the CBI Court Judge pronounced in open court his order dismissing the bail application.
