Denied ministerial berth, NA Haris supporters on warpath
Hundreds of people from Kuruba community and supporters of Haris gathered outside the KPCC office in the morning.
Bengaluru: High drama prevailed outside KPCC office on Queen’s Road on Friday as the angry supporters of Shanti Nagar MLA N.A. Haris staged protest demanding ministerial berth for Haris. The police had to resort to a mild lathi charge after the supporters began tearing down banners.
Hundreds of people from Kuruba community and supporters of Haris gathered outside the KPCC office in the morning.
Three of the supporters tried to commit suicide. While two of them tried to jump off from one of the advertisement hoardings near the office, the other one tried to hang himself to one of the poles outside the office. All three of them were rescued by the police.
Some tonsured their heads in protest and tried to block the traffic on Queen’s Road. The police had to resort with mild lathi charge after they pushed the barricades.
The police stopped and sent them back. Traffic flow in and around the Queen’s Road was affected from 11 am to 1 pm.
