Hyderabad: Heatwave is coming from MP, Maharasthra
The hot winds blow from 8 am at speeds of 10 to 20 km per hour and persist throughout the day.
Hyderabad: Hot winds blew across the state of Telangana as heatwave conditions intensified and the temperature touched 46.4 degrees Celsius in Nalgonda district on Wednesday.
The heatwave is predicted to last till May 12 and all districts of the state will have above normal temperatures, ranging from 42 degrees Celsius to 44 degrees C, touching 46 degrees C in some parts of the state, according to the IMD.
In Hyderabad, Moula Ali near Malkajgiri recorded the highest temperature at 42.2 degrees C.
On Wednesday, Nalgonda was at 46.4°C. Nizamabad, Ramagundam and Khammam were at 44°C. Medak and Hamakonda recorded 43°C while other parts of TS were all above 41°C.
The hot winds blow from 8 am at speeds of 10 to 20 km per hour and persist throughout the day. They come from Madhya Pradesh and Maharasthra as temperatures in these states have also increased to above 40°C.
From May 10, north-westerly winds and clouds due to the humidity will begin forming, but temperatures will continue to be high.
Intense heatwave warnings have been issued for Adilabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Jagityal, Karimnagar, Bhadrachalam and other parts of northern TS.
