Bengaluru: Malls and hospitals organised fun filled activities to make the city mothers feel special on the occasion of Mother’s Day on Sunday.  City based Apollo Cradle in Jayanagar and Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield by Marriott organised a fun-filled day for mothers and would-be mothers. The events tried to highlight the challenges faced by women during pregnancy and showcase the magical bond between a mother and a child. There were a number of interesting activities, including blindfolded mothers being guided by their children and fathers wearing ‘empathy belly’ to photo booth with quirky props and instant photographs. This Mother’s Day we wanted women to enjoy with their families and we are happy they had a blissful experience, said Neeraj Garg, Chief Executive Officer, Apollo Health and Lifestyle.

Fortis Hospitals on Bannerghatta Road conducted an educative session ‘Caring for the woman who nurtures - Celebrating the spirit of motherhood’, by eminent gynaecologist Dr Gayathri D. Kamath. The session dealt with the challenges faced by mothers, including the expectant ones. Special discounts and surprise gifts were given to around 100 attendees at the event. There was a quiz contest for mothers and those who gave the right answers were felicitated. Phoenix Marketcity also celebrated the day by organising a special flea market, exciting contests, music performances and other programmes.  In Facebook large number of users uploaded photos of themselves with their mothers, accompanied by thank you notes. For Dr Sita Bhateja, founder of Sita Bhateja Specialty Hospital, it was a day out with family, including a special ‘Mother's Day’ lunch.
