Visakhapatnam: After serving the Congress for years, Intuc district leader Mantri Rajasekhar has now joined the YSR Congress. He was disappointed with his previous party’s decision not to allot the Vizag Lok Sabha ticket to him.

The Indian National Trade Union Congress had demanded the Congress to field Mr Rajasekhar as the candidate. However, the party opted for Pedada Ramana Kumari as the nominee. With this, he quit the party recently.

On Sunday, Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy assured to solve various issues of the workers during an election meeting at Gajuwaka on Sunday. Having cordial relations with his late father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, the Intuc leader joined the YSRC on Monday.

He said that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised a minimum salary of Rs 18,000 per month to each worker in the unorganised sector if he came to power.

If the people elect more MPs from the party, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy said that it would fight for pay revision by removing the affordability clause for PSUs.

Mr Rajasekhar claims that around 1.5 lakh workers of various PSUs in the district will vote for Vizag MP candidate M.V.V. Satyanarayana. He also believes that the Intuc has direct access to all the YSRC members, unlike in the Congress and other parties.
