Tirupati: With their working skills and patience, women employees have been thriving well in key posts in TTD, complimented EO Anil Kumar Singhal.

The EO graced the International Women's Day function, organised by TTD, along with Tirupati JEO B. Lakshmi-kantham, at Mahati Auditorium on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that this year is being observed as one with no gender discrimination and that giving equal opportunities to men and women.

“In TTD, the women work force excel well in different posts. The temples of Tiruchanoor, Sri Govindaraja Swamy etc. are being headed by women deputy EOs only. But you still need to grab the opportunities which come in your way. For this, you need to invoke the capacities present within,” he expressed.

The TTD EO said that his mother had studied only in primary classes but she taught all of them ethical values that helped them a lot in their personal and professional life. “This is the power of a mother,” he maintained.

The EO said that the grievances of women employees are regularly being addressed now in the redressal cell, competitions were held for wo-men and the new sports complex will boost one’s energies.

Earlier, Tirupati JEO B. Lakshmikantham, in his address, said that the Astadasa Shaktipeetha-ms signify the importa-nce and prominence given to women in India, since Vedic age. “Where women are worshipped and respected, that area will prosper. If a woman is educated, she can do wonders. We are now aiming at skill development training progra-mme in TTD institutions”, he said.

Tirupati MLA M. Suguna, Veena expert from Madurai Dr S. Mallika, national athlete Duteechand, deputy EOs Varalakshmi, Jhansi Rani, Kasturi, Nagara-thna and others were also present.
