Ponguleti hails Sarpanches in Khammam

Khammam: MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy succeeded in fulfilling his task of felicitating all the sarpanches in the Khammam Lok Sabha constituency limits, who were elected in the recent elections.

But the defeated MLAs, who did not attend, are alleging that they lost due to the MP, and are waiting for a chance to get even. As part of it, they are campaigning against him by telling the party high command that he is not suitable to the Khammam Lok Sabha.

But Ponguleti visited the Assembly segments and organised programmes to felicitate sarpanches. Interestingly, the MP felicitated the sarpanches elected from opposition parties too. The programme was designed as apolitical.

Of course, the ensuing general elections was in his mind and the idea that they would help him was a motivating factor. Many of the sarpanches honoured his invitation and participated in his programme because the MP had extended logistic support to all the elected sarpanches.

But, Ponguleti faced a problem in Palair and Kothagudem Assembly segments. The defeated TRS MLAs Tummala Nageswara Rao and Jalagam Venkat Rao raised objections and asked their sarpanches not to participate in the MP’s programme. But since many of the sarpanches wanted to be there, he organised it in his camp office instead.
