HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday cautioned that it would not tolerate attacks on the persons who had moved court for public causes.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K. Vijaya Lakshmi, while dealing with a petition by Lakshmi Nivas Agarwal of the city, seeking the removal of encroachments in Siddiamber Bazaar, cautioned the people not to take the law into their hands.

The petitioner, during an earlier hearing, had complained to the court that some shopkeepers of the area had assaulted him with sticks and rods, for filing the PIL. Mr D. Prakash Reddy, Advocate-General, told the court that the police had taken one person into custody.
