HYDERABAD: On the lines of T-Hub, the Telangana state government on Thursday launched Women Entrepreneurship Hub (We-Hub) which is India’s first state-led service exclusively for women entrepreneurs . It will be led by Deepthi Ravula, who stays near Mahabubabad of Telangana, and has worked in the US and also with the IT Department. We-hub will begin functioning from Friday. It is located at the T-SAT campus at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University in Jubilee Hills. We-Hub is open for both technology and non-technology business.

“One key characteristic of We-Hub is that it aims to be a platform that brings all the key elements of a vibrant eco-system together. The government will be the first customer for the start-ups in We-Hub,” minister K.T. Rama Rao said at the Launch of We-Hub. The government will procure services from start-ups which is the same as T-Hub. NITI Aayog launched the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP), on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Through We-Hub, Telangana is the first state-level incubator to partner with NITI Aayog. Six MoUs were signed with UNDP, PwC, CII INW, Salesforce, AIDEA, NAARM and NSRCEL-IIM Bengaluru. While the interested women entrepreneurs can apply through  http://wehub.telangana.gov.in/, the space currently has 100 seats. The applications will be scrutinised by Ravula and Chief Innovation Officer of Telangana Phanidra Sama. Companies which are led by women can only apply.
