Khammam: The formation of  a task force to look into the District Congress Committee workings, has exposed the internal squabbles in the party, once again.

A letter from RC Kunthia, AICC Telangana affairs, constituting the task  force in the DCC, triggered consfusion. Katla Ranga Rao, Srinivasa Yadav and Srinivasa Reddy were the  members of the Task Force committee and they were given a free hand to form  party district bodies by setting aside the DCC president.
Such a committee was allegedly put together at the behest of Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdary.

The  decision created a flutter in the DCC, especially since the Congress has no other such party committee in the country. Sources said that Renuka wanted to create problems for DCC president A. Satyam and his aides with the task force committee. He asked for a clarification on the task force committee with Kuntia too.

Mr Satyam said, “Such a committee doesn’t exist in any of the districts in Telangana, except Khammam. Why they followed such a practice here is difficult to fathom.”The ire of AICC bosses against Ms Renuka on various issues is clear. To begin with, Ms Renuka’s  presence at the launch of the ‘Rastra Manch’ by BJP MP Yashwant Sinha in New Delhi on January 30, surprised the party high command.

It was a topic of discussion by top leaders of the party, many of whom wanted to know whether she had informed the party about it. Sources said that the party high command took the issue very seriously.

Trinamool Congress MP Dinesh Trivedi, NCP MP Majeed Memon, AAP MP Sanjay Singh, Gujarat former CM Suresh Mehta and JD (U) leader Pawan Verma were among those who attended  the Yashwant Sinha meeting.

Providing support was  Potla Nageswara Rao, who joined the  Congress from TD at the instance of Ms Renuka and family members of Yadavalli Krishna, who is now trying for a Kothagudem party ticket. They met TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and expressed concern over their position in the party after the Delhi developments.

Sources said, “Clarity on all these issues will come in March and the position of senior leaders will be known to everybody.”
