KCR to work with Left for \'BJP-mukt Bharat\'
TRS sources said the Left leaders told KCR that time has come for secular forces to join hands to uproot Modi government
Hyderabad: TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday and top leaders of the Left parties including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan decided to work with like-minded forces to devise a roadmap defeat the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and achieve "BJP-mukt Bharat".
TRS sources said the Left leaders, invited to Pragathi Bhavan by the CM, told Chandrashekar Rao that the time has come for secular forces to join hands to uproot the Narendra Modi government, accusing it of working for the benefit of corporates while making the lives of common people miserable with increasing prices of essential commodities and fuel.
They said it's a 'litmus test' for progressive forces to defeat BJP and everyone should contribute their bit to achieve the task. They expressed concern that the 'divisive and communal politics' of BJP had become a threat to national security and progress.
They also lashed out at the “anti-poor, anti-labour, anti-farmer policies” of the Modi government due to which the poor, employees and farmers are facing several hardships.
The CPM leaders were in Hyderabad to attend the party’s three-day national committee meetings, and the CPI leaders for the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) meeting. The CPM and CPI leaders called on the CM separately, and held discussions.
From the CPM were general secretary Sitaram Yechuri, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Tripura former CM Manik Sircar, CPM politburo members Ramachandran Pillai, Balakrishnan and M.A. Baby.
CPI national leaders included general secretary D. Raja, CPI parliamentary party leader Binay Viswam, Kerala revenue minister Rajan and Telangana CPI general secretary Chada Venkat Reddy.
TRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao, ministers Mahmood Ali, V. Prashanth Reddy, former MP B. Vinod Kumar, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar were present.
The CM briefed the communist leaders about the Centre's discrimination against Telangana, and how it had pushed the state’s agriculture and farmers into a crisis with its decision not to procure paddy from Telangana in the rabi season.
