Kochi: 4500 runners to race in spice coast marathon

The marathon will also witness participation from over 60 runners from the Kerala police and 100 runners from the Navy team.

Around 50 NGOs will participate in this edition to raise funds for the social issues while 90 corporates will vie for the stylish golden trophy in the Marathon.

Kochi: The 5th edition of the Spice Coast Marathon to be held on Sunday here will witness the participation of more than 4500 runners. The marathon will be flagged off from Willingdon Island with the full marathon (42k) commencing at 4 am, half marathon (21k) at 5 am, half marathon corporate relay at 5.40 am and the fun run (8k) at 7.30 am.

Organised by Soles of Cochin, the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Spice Coast Marathon 2018 will see over 350 runners competing in the full marathon, over 1700 runners attempting the half marathon and over 2500 runners participating in everyone’s favourite run, the 8 km fun run. The marathon will also witness participation from over 60 runners from the Kerala police and 100 runners from the Navy team. It has also received strong response from the Corporate sector.
